Giving Horses a New Beginning
Meet Our Residents
Kosmo
We guestimate Kosmo to be 28 to 30 years old. He is a sweet guy, and in enjoying his time roaming the pasture.
Royal
Beautiful Mare who unfortunately somehow broke her leg before she was 2 years old. She can never be ridden. We treat her daily with "Arthritis" medication.
Jolene
This gentle giant will get to do some light riding once we get her up to weight. Our best guess is that she was once an Amish Plow horse that has worked very hard most of her life.
Khaleesi
Khaleesi was orphaned when her Momma was sold at auction. When she came in she was a mess, she has become so lovable and is so happy to be able to run and play with the herd
Scout
We have just retired Scout. She is an ex reigning horse who was injured during her showing career. She has a bone spur that has ended her ridding career so she gets to enjoy pasture life.
Guppy and Minnow
These two came in beyond underweight. They are inseparable. They are slowing learning to trust humans again.
Sedona
This sweet girl has been almost starved to death twice in her life before coming to Break Away Ranch. She loves to be loved on!
Shaq
Not really sure what happened to him prior to joining us. Can say that he is learning to trust men and enjoying herd life
Outlaw
Outlaw took a Big fall on Mingus Mountain while with a trainer. He slid 150 feet through oak brush, followed by a 30 foot drop then another 100 foot slide. He was cut up so badly he had air under his skin. Took us 9 months to nurse him back. We are working with him and hopeful to have him under saddle!
